Recipients will receive 40% off the regular high school tuition rate (renewable yearly according to guidelines) and a scholarship to attend summer leadership training through their denomination or an approved regional or national program.
1. High school students who currently do not attend Freeman Academy and will enter grades nine through twelve in the next school year.
2. A current GPA of 3.5 or above for students in high school; students who will enter grade nine will be evaluated based on middle school grades; homeschool students will be evaluated on grades, course content, and course work/testing.
3. Strong character, proactive towards faith growth, strong communication skills, a service orientation, and a desire to be an active participant in our school community.
4. Demonstrated leadership in student’s current school, congregation, and/or community organizations.
5. Letter from pastor or youth group leader about student’s church involvement and character.
6. Current participation in a co-curricular and/or extra-curricular activity such as athletics, drama, music, band, 4H, Boy Scouts, etc.
1. Scholarship recipients and their parents sign a scholarship participation agreement.
2. Maintain a 3.5 GPA each year.
3. Maintain growth in character, faith, communication skills, service, and be an active participant in our school community
4. Each year the student focuses on one of the four areas in the table below and invests about 15 hours. Please note:
a. Freeman Academy school activities cannot fulfill the scholarship requirements. Examples: school service trip, worship service designed by a Bible class, assigned writing and class projects, etc.
b. Other opportunities or ideas for each area below can be discussed with administration.
c. When practical, opportunities may be arranged for locations other than Freeman.

Student Bible study leader. Spiritual Life Group devotion writer. Chapel speaker, praise band member, or emcee. 5. Summer Leadership Training Options:
a. Attend one regional or national leadership camp or conference. The scholarship will cover registration for this event. National conferences for the student’s denomination are options.
b. The event chosen must be approved by Freeman Academy.
c. Serve as a camp counselor at a Christian camp. The scholarship provides a stipend for one week of service.

Finalists will be contacted for a personal interview with Freeman Academy administration
