“My students are at the age where they realize what is really going on in the world. It’s the stage where they start to lose their innocence. That’s why we take time to talk about what is going on around them and in the media. In our discussions I ask, ‘What pieces would Jesus be OK with? What pieces would Jesus not be ok with?’ It helps the students process what is consistent with their faith. Being able to use a Christian perspective when discussing real-life issues with my students is important, and something I appreciate about teaching at Freeman Academy.”
